IEEE Entrepreneurship was founded in 2015 as the result of a 2014 IEEE Board Ad Hoc Committee looking for ways that IEEE could be relevant to entrepreneurs and investors. As an M.S.E.E. and AT&T Bell Labs member, IEEE was very relevant to me for the first 15 years of my career. I was a member of the IEEE Communicat ions Society and the IEEE Computer Society, but I found that, when I became an entrepreneur in 2000, IEEE lost relevance for me for 14 years until I joined the 2014 IEEE Board Ad Hoc Committee.
